The gadget displays nothing or shows a "Refused to connect" error message.

Problem

Nothing is displayed in the gadget, even though a URL was entered and I can open the URL in my browser.

Reason 1

We embed external content via an iframe. This isolates Jira or Confluence from the external website. However, modern browsers introduced X-Frame-Options header to increase security. The external website can deny embedding and we strictly follow it.

Solution

There is no solution to this problem.

Reason 2

Your Jira or Confluence is accessed via https:// but your embedded content is accessed via http://. Modern browsers disallow this kind of mixed content

Solution

Change your gadget’s url to https://. If the content is only available via http://, there is no solution, unfortunately.
